Back in 1929, when banks were crumbling across America, ours in Templeton kept its doors open thanks to a little small-town ingenuity and a not-so-secret "Hidden Stash" of rye whiskey. Nearly a century later, we're tipping our hat to that legacy with the first release in our Hidden Stash Collection: 13 Year Rye. Made from the finest rye grains and aged patiently in charred oak through thirteen Iowa winters and summers, this non-chill filtered expression delivers remarkable depth and character. Templeton, Iowa was founded in 1882 by German immigrants who brought with them something more valuable than just strong hands and farming know-how. They brought tradition. Back in the old country, rye whiskey was the drink of choice. So when the crops took root in Iowa’s soil, so did the custom of distilling rye.
