The chairman of whiskey bonder W &A Gilbey goes for a walk in the woods one day. An avid bird-watcher, he peers through his binoculars and spots the bright red chest feathers of the Robin Redbreast. The chairman suddenly finds himself with the perfect name for what would become his most definitive whiskey, a name that first appears in August 1912: Redbreast. For more than a century, Redbreast has stayed true to the Irish Pot Still whiskey-making tradition: made in a single distillery using a mash bill of malted and unmalted barley, distilled in copper pot stills.
