Born and bred in San Francisco since 1993, Old Potrero stands as the first American craft whiskey produced post-Prohibition. This Toasted Barrel expression is distilled in a small copper pot still from 100% rye malt and aged for a minimum of 6 years in new, toasted American White Oak barrels.
The barrels are handcrafted using 18th-century traditional methods—coopers heat oak staves over oak chip fires, allowing them to bend and form while the interior lightly toasts. This time-honored process imparts a rich color and distinctive character that defines Old Potrero's rye whiskey.
Each barrel is air-dried for 24 months and made from extra-fine grain American White Oak, ensuring complexity and depth in every pour. A whiskey rooted in American heritage and craft tradition.
