Product Details
Nixta Licor de Elote is the world’s first corn liqueur, produced at Destilería y Bodega Abasolo in Jilotepec, Mexico, and made from 100% ancestral Cacahuazintle corn grown in the high valleys near the Nevado de Toluca volcano. Its flavor depth comes from nixtamalization—the 4,000‑year‑old Mesoamerican process that unlocks the richest aromas and textures of maize—combined with a house method that macerates tender corn and distills ripe kernels for layered sweetness and toasty complexity.
Bottled at 30% ABV, Nixta pours intense straw with golden highlights and opens with aromas of cornbread, toasted corn, vanilla, caramel, and buttery popcorn. On the palate, expect sweet and roasted corn, caramel and vanilla, plus butterscotch and buttered popcorn tones that linger smoothly through the finish.
Designed in an unmistakable corn‑shaped bottle, Nixta pays tribute to Mexico’s corn heritage while offering bar‑ready versatility: enjoy it neat or over ice, or use it to add silky texture and a savory‑sweet corn richness to classics like an Old Fashioned, White Russian, or agave‑forward cocktails. Its corn‑driven profile has earned gold‑medal accolades and enthusiastic reviews for compelling, corn‑masa flavors ideal for creative mixology and dessert pairings.
