This exceptional whiskey rested on the top floors of one of Jack Daniel's oldest barrelhouses for nearly a decade, creating a unique expression that showcases how location influences proof and flavor. Crafted from a distinctive grain bill of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley, this whiskey is ground, fermented, distilled in copper stills, and charcoal mellowed using Jack Daniel's traditional process. Barreled in 2015 in new charred American White Oak, the Tennessee Rye matured in Barrel House 1 atop Tanyard Hill, developing a complex, robust character. Bottled at barrel proof between 130.2 and 148.8 proof, each bottle captures the versatility that Tanyard Hill delivers. Expect aromas of dark fruit, plum, and fig with sweet oak, followed by flavors of candied mint, dark chocolate, and layers of baking spice.
