Once a year, Garrison Brothers releases one of the most notable and award-winning bourbons ever made in Texas: Cowboy Bourbon®. The 2026 release marks the 12th edition. Each barrel was hand-selected by Master Distiller Donnis Todd from the distillery’s most prized and distinctive stock, set aside for additional maturation in the extreme Texas Hill Country climate, and aged for at least eight years to achieve unparalleled depth of flavor. Bottled at cask strength — 141 proof — uncut and unfiltered, with 16,000 bottles produced.

Its tasting notes are as bold as they are complex, opening with burnt wood and gun smoke before giving way to a warming finish layered with dried stone fruit and caramelized sugar. “It comes on strong at first, but the depth of flavor quickly draws you in,” says Todd. “A lasting flood of warmth gives way to layers of dried fruit and toasted marshmallows, creating a bold Texas finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.” First released in 2013, Cowboy Bourbon helped put Garrison Brothers — and Texas — on the national bourbon map; the 2025 edition earned a Platinum medal at the 2026 ASCOT Awards and a Double Gold medal at the 2026 SIP Awards.
