Chartreuse Yellow Liqueur, crafted since 1840 following the traditional Elixir Végétal recipe, carries the official "Chartreuse" designation and is produced by the Chartreux Fathers. With 43% ABV, this liqueur offers a unique sweetness balanced by spicy aromas derived from 130 plants, flowers, bark, roots, and spices. Its production involves meticulous steps: monks grind the botanicals at the Grande Chartreuse monastery, followed by distillation and multiple macerations to extract flavors and natural coloration. After aging in oak casks, it continues to develop complexity in the bottle. Expect a vivid yellow hue, fresh and spicy nose with notes of turmeric, citrus, anise, and delicate floral nuances.
