A bourbon of ample maturity already brimming with an assortment of decadent desserts has been nudged to and fro by French oak to incorporate the broad array of spices that make the wood species so highly prized by winemakers the world over. Bourbon’s typical old-fashioned donut note has seen a dusting of cinnamon thanks to the French oak; its innate custard has been laced with nutmeg and its black tea loaded with clove and turmeric.

Barrell Craft Spirits' 12-year bourbon undergoes secondary maturation in hand-selected French oak casks, creating a sophisticated spirit with distinctive character. The French oak imparts warm nutmeg, aromatic allspice, toasted hazelnut, creamy vanilla, and refined worn leather notes. At 108.5 proof, this bourbon balances complexity and refinement—the French oak's subtle influence adds layers without overpowering the base spirit.
On the nose, expect pear brandy, pineapple, pizzelle, cinnamon donut, and hazelnut praline. The palate showcases allspice, clove, turmeric, and peppercorn with lavender and sandalwood undertones. The finish delivers coffee cake, blueberries, and maraschino cherries with peppery olive oil and graphite notes.
Distilled across Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Wyoming, then crafted and bottled in Kentucky. Ranked #12 in Fred Minnick's Top 100 Spirits of 2025 and featured in Forbes' 5 Best French Oak Finished Bourbons. Limited release of 1,500 bottles.
