A beautiful, creamy texture is followed by a lovely combination of flavours, with aniseed toffee, café latte, fennel and gentle antiseptic soap. The peat smoke is present, but in a very restrained manner, and leads into a lingering aftertaste with chewy oak, cocoa powder and tar.

The Legend Returns. First released in 1997 after the distillery's reopening, Ardbeg 17 Years Old became an instant favorite among whisky enthusiasts before retiring in 2004. Now, a quarter-century later, Master Distiller Dr Bill Lumsden has meticulously recreated this iconic expression, faithfully mirroring the original flavor profile and bottling at 40% ABV.
Distinctly balmy and medicinal with an enticing minerality, this single malt bursts into sweet smoke and malted barley. Its peaty character is unmistakable, with hints of tar and oak. On the nose, expect fresh and clean notes of pine resin, aniseed, sea spray, and lavender soap—remarkably elegant for an Ardbeg. Water reveals a flinty minerality alongside subtle sweet peat smoke, malted barley, and toasted bread.
Matured in ex-bourbon casks and chill filtered, this Committee Exclusive is a homecoming for those who cherished the original. A whisky destined to return.
